How much are you prepared to pay for a daily commute to work and back?
I wonder what most people would consider an acceptable cost for commuting - just on a personal basis. How much are you prepared to pay, what's your cut-off point? It would be good to hear how many times a week you undertake that kind of trip when you answer. Thank you! To give an example, I pay 7 Dollars a day if I go by bus, which I find crazy. If I drive, it costs me 2 Dollars for fuel, which I find almost cheaper than necessary.

- It depends on how much I earn.
- Bear in mind that according to AAA, driving your car costs about 45 cents per mile when you factor in wear and tear on the vehicle, maintenance, etc. The cost of fuel is really an insignificant portion of the cost of driving when you look at it in perspective. So if you are spending $2 on fuel, the cost of the commute is definitely over $7. I walk or take a free shuttle, so I spend $0.
- I pay approx $320 a month to commute. Averages out to like $13-15 a day.
